As we live now in the era of advanced technologies, prosthodontists have opportunities to perform right prosthetic treatment, use more implants and at the same time preserve more teeth, correct masticatory functions and TMJ problems, and improve the smile without surgery in a lot of cases. The goal of our study was to develop methods of orthodontic treatment of patients with problems in the TMJ area, as well as leveling of the occlusal plane in partially edentulous patients with missing posterior teeth. The lack of tooth support limits of orthodontic treatment occlusal plane for the further successful prosthetic rehabilitation, it is therefore necessary to find innovational approaches of treatment without active patient compliance with treatment regimens. Several cases were referred by the other orthodontists for finding solutions after few years’ orthodontic treatments. Other patients were referred by the prosthodontists for potential preservation of misplaced teeth and correction of occlusal plane for further prosthetic treatment. In some cases, it was not possible to use bracket systems without additional support. Introduction of Microimplants in the practice of an orthodontist and knowledge of biomechanics of movements helped to solve these problems. As a result, the use of Micro implants as a skeletal anchorage and partner relationship with osteopathy’s support and using muscles manual testing of posture the clinician can obtain results similar to surgery, but without it, and with lower risks and cost, especially in cases with TMJ problems. Moreover, using Micro implants as a skeletal anchorage instead, of missing posterior teeth let us to correct the horizontal occlusal plane, to align some teeth resulted in correction of the vertical and transverse occlusal plane. However, using of Micro implants for intrusion of the teeth has limited indications. It depends of our goals in cases of alignment of the orbital and occlusal planes in space of the skull under muscles manual testing of posture.

She Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry-Pharmacy, Vitrina University also Teaching in the Faculty of Dentistry-Pharmacy, "Vitrina" University. She is a drafting of teaching curricula of the Master of Science in Dentistry, Master of Science in Pharmacy, Faculty of Dentistry-Pharmacy, Vitrina University. Her Lecturer on the subject of Knowledge Materials, Dental Morphology, Dental Occlusion , Department of Dentistry Faculty of Dentistry, Vitrina University. She is a Member of American Equilibration Society and also Member of Chicago Dental Society.


Tongue behavior is directly influenced from hyoid movement, which is directly linked to motion of the mandible. Taking present the concept of 'bidirectionality', in which they recognize that movement in one part of the system affects all the others, the muscular linkages among the mandible, the hyoid, the cranial base and sternum is performing in that way that the geometry of the relationship between the hyoid and the mandible is such that their relative positions are affected by the direction and amplitude of jaw movement. Usually in the treatment protocol of TMD we neglect this muscular linkages.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of the rehabilitation of the tongue posture on the treatment of TMD
using RiPaRa device.
Methods: This investigation was carried out in 34 TMD patients divided in two groups: Patient group (PG) with 17 individuals treated with RiPaRa device and Control group (CG) does not undergo any treatment. The evaluation and analysis is based on the self-evaluation questionnaire.
Conclusion: The findings of our study are favorable to the use of RiPaRa device, but based on the very limited number of the patient enrolled we suggest further investigation and result verification in time.
